Dr. Harshit Desai
Harshit Prashant Desai, PharmD, is interested in human research ethics, participant protections, and the role of policy in supporting responsible and scientifically rigorous research practices. His academic and clinical background has fostered a strong interest in ethical decision-making, research integrity, and the development of systems that promote transparency and accountability in human subjects research. In addition to earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree, he holds an Executive Diploma in Medical Writing, which has provided him with experience in scientific communication, clinical research documentation, literature evaluation, and the preparation of academic and medical content. His exposure to hospital-based clinical practice and research activities has strengthened his understanding of evidence-based healthcare and the importance of ethical oversight in research involving human participants.
Farheen Khan
As a graduate researcher at CCSU, Farheen investigated the developmental impact of acetaminophen on axon development using a zebrafish model, tracking structural changes across concentrations to help establish safer usage thresholds during pregnancy. She presented these findings at CCSU’s Biomolecular Sciences Conference and the Eastern Colleges Science Conference. Farheen also has a strong background in mentorship and outreach, training undergraduate researchers on data collection, documentation, and analytical review, and helping coordinate departmental mentorship panels and science career fairs for high school students. She welcomes opportunities to connect with professionals dedicated to research integrity, participant advocacy, and community-driven outreach.
Interested in Becoming a Human Research Policy (HRP) Fellow?
Human Research Policy (HRP) fellowships are designed and agreed upon based on the candidate’s professional background and current business needs. Each fellowship will consist of human subjects research training, mentorship, and creation of deliverables that can be used in your portfolio. Fellowships are for a three-month period with a possible extension. Interested candidates should fill out the form below for more information.
